WATER SUPPLY UPDATE
Due to the electricity disruptions experienced, the system is recovering at a slow pace. Chelsea reservoir is at 37% and Greenbushes reservoir is at 90%. The KwaNobuhle reservoirs have suffered in the process, and the focus is to build up the these reservoirs overnight.
Unfortunately, while this was happening, critical connections had to be affected to allow St Georges boreholes to go into the testing phase and as a result, Struandale and Gelvandale reservoirs have dropped.
Adjustments have been made to improve the situation overnight. Emerald Hill reservoir is still low and adjustments will be made in the morning to try to build up storage levels. The distribution system remains critical but stable.
We urge all residents to continue using water sparingly.
More updates will follow as the situation progresses.
