Water cuts may be experienced in different areas across the City

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to inform residents and businesses that Eskom will have a planned shutdown on 14 August 2019 from 05h00 until 18h00 that will negatively affect our water distribution.

As a result of this shutdown, the Elandsjagt Water Treatment Works (WTW) will not be able to treat and produce clean water.

The Churchill WTW will not be able to fully satisfy the demand from that zone by itself, therefore residents are requested to use water sparingly during the duration of the shutdown
so that storage reservoirs will not be depleted.

In the case of storage being consumed completely, the following areas of the Metro may experience low pressure or water cuts:

•  Zwide
•  Gelvandale
•  Helenvale
•  KwaZakhele
•  New Brighton
•  North End
•  Central

Please note that the shutdown will not affect the electricity supply in the City, only the Water Treatment Works which is situated around the Kouga Municipality area will be affected.

Residents and businesses are urged to use water sparingly.
